Summary: Dean got wounded in battle and Sam takes care of him. Meanwhile Sam realises what Dean has done for him.

Dean hissed when Sam poured the alcohol into his wound. “That friggin’ hurts, man,” Dean snapped while trying to pull away his arm. Sam grabbed his arm even tighter.

“Don’t be a baby, Dean.” Sam said while dabbing the reddish flesh. “You were the one who was reckless with that werewolf to begin with.” Sam dipped the blanket into the bucket of warm water next to him; it was already turning pink of the blood.

“Saving your ass, you mean,” Dean mumbled. Sam wanted to deny that, but Dean had already closed his eyes and made himself comfortable on the bed. Sam sighed and continued cleaning the wound, happily letting this argument slip away.

Though now that he thought about it, Dean did save his life. Sam bit his lip. He had tried to open the door from the basement, but was too late to notice the werewolf had already followed him. But not Dean. Dean had jumped between Sam and the werewolf, catching the hit from the werewolf’s claws. Without hesitation Dean had kicked him with both feet, let himself drop to the floor and grabbed the fallen gun, putting a silver bullet right in the heart. Sam had watched in awe at his big brother.

Dean startled when he suddenly felt how his little brother embraced him. “Wow, Sam, what’s with the chick flick moment?”

“Nothing,” Sam muttered. “I’m just glad you’re around.”

And for a moment he held him as tight as possible.
